$\binom52(0.5)^5 = \dfrac{10}{32} = 0.3125$. When $p = 0.5$ every outcome has the same power of a half.

$npq = 10 \times 0.3 \times 0.7 = 2.1$, so the standard deviation is 1.45.

$P(X=0) = (0.75)^8 = 0.1001$, so $P(X \ge 1) = 1 - 0.1001 = 0.900$.

Removing a card alters the composition of the deck, which breaks both the constant-$p$ and the independence conditions.
